My first podcast interview was released last Monday! It was a pretty exciting moment listening to myself on an actual podcast talking about my work and my journey getting to where I am now. (Although I admit, it's really weird to listen to myself!)

Amanda McKinney, marketing and entrepreneur coach, had me on her podcast The Unapologetic Entrepreneur to discuss me finally coming into my niche and what my process has been to get me to this point. Amanda has been my marketing coach for a couple of years now and I was so thrilled when she asked me to be on her podcast!

Here are the main points that I laid out that helped me get to where I am now:

  1. Realizing I cannot do everything on my own and reaching out for support
  2. Taking a moment to pause and reflect on what truly lights me up to help guide me forward
  3. Being okay to sit in the difficult moments, along with the happy moments and just allow them to happen. Enjoy the journey—the exploration, the challenges, the wins, the WTF moments—and give all moments the space they need so I can learn from them, instead of just pushing through to the next best thing.

In the podcast we discuss this with the focus of entrepreneurship, but realistically I believe these are important points for anything we want to do in life. It’s important that we enjoy the journey, we don’t just push through it. It’s important for us to periodically pause and reflect on what makes us happy and brings us joy. And it’s imperative that we don’t try to do everything on our own—that is just a recipe for burnout!

You can listen to it on any of the major podcast apps (Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcast, etc) or directly on Amanda’s website.
