What You Learn in Yoga is More than What Happens on the Mat

You may have heard me say how my goal is to help you take what you learn on the mat (and off!) with me out into your daily life. I know some people may at first think, 'yeah, yeah yoga is just for getting flexible' but the reality is yoga, especially yoga designed to help you meet yourself where you are in the moment, can do so much more than that. And recently one of my clients showed me just how true this is with her own powerful story.
I received a very special testimonial from one of my long-term private clients, Nancy, who has been with me for two years now in a private small group, along with her husband, brother and sister-in-law. Nancy shared a comment on Facebook about how our weekly sessions have helped her and I am so incredibly humbled by it.
First and foremost, I’d like to recognize how strong she is for telling her story in a public manner and how grateful I am that she has done so. I am incredibly inspired by her love and strength.
Here’s what Nancy said:
“I'm so enjoying Tytoni Yoga classes. The breathing exercises have helped to calm me. My daughter had a brother-in--law die of an overdose. She called in in a panic. I talked her through the breathing exercises I had learned so she could drive home. I hope to teach my grandson, who is on the Austism Spectrum, these breathing techniques when he's anxious. Thanks, Tess!”
I can only imagine what their family must be going through right now, and I hope you join me in sending love and healing their way.
I am also incredibly honored to know that what Nancy has learned in the sessions with me she is now able to take out into her everyday life and not only use the techniques to support herself but also her family and loved ones.
