I’m missing the snow and being able to get out of the city, as we’re locked down again like so many others around the world... So, as a way to keep my spirits up, I’m reminiscing of a few weekends ago when we went up to the foothills to have a little fun in the snow and go snowshoeing!

We went walking around Ríoseco, up above the reservoir. It was a stunning spot, bright blue skies and sparkling snow. The reflections of the snowy cliffs and mountain peaks in the reservoir were breathtaking. Couldn’t have asked for a better winter rendezvous.

The pose in this photo is Camel pose or Urstrasana. The pose is great for opening the chest, relieving the lower back, strengthening the back, thighs and glutes, stretching the chest and abdomen, and building a little inner confidence.

Avoid or modify the asana if you feel any pinching in the lower back, have a serious back injury or had recent surgery. You can always use props with this pose to find a variation that works best for you.
