Did you know that meditation can not only help us de-stress and find focus, but it can also reduce anxiety and feel more empowered. Through a consistent meditation practice—key word is consistent not long—studies have shown that we can even rewire our brain. It’s pretty incredible stuff.

There’s a really great TEDx talk by Neuroscientist Sara Lazar from 2011 that dives into the amazingness that is meditation. I highly recommend the talk if your interested to learn more about the benefits of meditation.

Throughout the month of March I’ve been holding 5 minute meditations every day on Instagram live. (The replays are all there, too, if you want a recap!) It's been a really fun experience for me. It was a bit daunting at the beginning, going live every day for a month, but I have found the experience to have been incredibly fulfilling.

Over the last 28 days, two of the things I’ve heard the most from people have been:

  • How tricky getting into meditation can be.
  • But how much they’ve enjoyed the meditation and how much even 5 minutes of meditation helps them reset their day.

Meditation can be tricky. It’s easy for us to feel uncomfortable. Meditation is really about self-awareness and getting to know yourself. If you’ve never really sat down with yourself before, allowing whatever comes up to come up, it can be scary to allow that connection. And yet, when we do create the connection it benefits we reap are extraordinary.

Another tricky aspect of meditation is a wandering mind. It’s completely normal for our minds to wander in meditation, that’s part of the practice. To learn how to acknowledge those thoughts, without letting them take us down a rabbit hole, and return our awareness to the meditation is all part of the journey of meditation.

Meditation is not about clearing the mind, blanking everything out. It's about pausing, allowing, and then releasing.

In all cases, the more we practice, the easier it gets. The more comfortable we are with ourselves, the more we love ourselves. The more we love ourselves, the more empowered we feel, the happier we are.

I would love for you to join me for…

We’ll start on April 11 and go through May 16.

Each week you’ll receive a short video lesson about that week’s meditation, an audio recording of the meditation for you to practice, and a journaling workbook for you to use. The weekly meditations will be 10 minutes or less.

We’ll meet live three times on Zoom to discuss the benefits of meditation, discuss ways to make meditation accessible, ask questions, and feel connected in a community. I decided to only do three live sessions, because I don't want this course to be "just one more thing" on your list, but instead to really make it accessible. If you can't join live, you can you will have access to the replays.

Join me to Pause.

If you have any questions about the course or aren’t sure if the course is right for you, please don’t hesitate to send me a message in the box below!
